What a difference a couple days of blowing makes. Beech layed down a lot of snow over the past few days and it definitely showed. No bare spots whatsoever on any of the trails. Great snow quality. A nice little layer of manmade powder in the morning was an extra treat. Looking forward to Sunday as they can blow around the clock until then and should get a couple inches of the natural stuff.

A ride down Southern Star.

Little cloudy and windy, nothing major.

Some manmade pow I was talking about. I love this photo.

Upper Shawneehaw.

But they also had some sweet corduroy.

The park was lacking today. Most of the features hadn't been tended to, granted it was a Wednesday and they had been blowing like crazy. The lack of a park due to too much snow is never a bad problem to have.

On a side note, I now work for AppNet/the High Country Web Cams site. I'm pretty pumped. So basically, if any of the web cams are down from now on, you can blame me :).

Very nice, Kenny. :>) A little better angle on the quad cameras @ Beech would be nice. Keep the TR's coming.

Beech Mtn Parkway was a circus at 6:30pm on my way up tonight. I passed a prius doing no greater than 5mph about halfway up the hill. At the final switchback, an audi slid through the corner and crashed into a tree. I met a guy on the lift who's buddy fishtailed their car into a truck. On my way back home a guy had crossed lanes and slid into the guardrail on a steep hill near my house. I bet tow truck operators love nights like tonight.

The snow was worth it, even with the guns on making some sticky spots. Robbins Run was money. The edges had untracked natural, the rollers are still there and everyone was on white lightning or shawnahee. Snow fell all night long so conditions should be pretty good in the morning.
