Wish I could have posted this sooner. Would have if Banner Elk had 3G.

Anyway left Alabama Thursday 2/3 at 5:30pm in this mess. With accidents a plenty with many cars in the ditch. It was a snow, sleet, freezing rain mix--so the roads were pretty slick. You just gotta now how to drive in this mess.

Pull into Banner Elk at around 3AM Eastern. Took about an hour longer because of the road conditions in Alabama. Wake up call at 7am eastern was pretty early. It has been 4-5 years since I have been to Banner Elk, so it was good to be back. But that drive is killer, makes me think twice before heading up to Snowshoe or Timberline...even as bad as I want to.

Skied uncrowded slopes on mostly some new manmade packed powder snow untill the rain started after lunch.

Saturday we let the rain and cloulds burn off and hit up the afternoon sesh at Sugar. The slopes were pretty crowded and the wet/frozen granular mush/push piles weren't too much fun to ski in as the day wore on. Wish I could have gone this weekend for better conditions, but kids basketball games wouldn't allow it.

On to the pics.

Nala and son on the UPS (what can brown do for you?) chair for the warmup run.

Guys and Gals git off the sofa and go ski. You will regret it if you don't. The season will soon be over and the long hot summer will set in. Do it now.

I do gotta ask TD or Zeus, why the 55mph speed limit in Knoxvegas? (not that it was obeyed :D ). Is that the upper speed limit for tractors in that area?
