As you probably already know, I love the town of Crested Butte more than anywhere else in Colorado- maybe the entire country. It's combination of character, authenticity, scenery, adventure, and peacefulness is just about perfect. My wife and I went down last weekend for four days to hike, bike, and just enjoy the town. We did. Here are pictures to prove it.

On the way down, we stopped south of Copper Mountain in Mayflower Gulch at the old Boston Mine:

Whetstone Mtn towers over the town of Crested Butte at sunset:

Mt. Crested Butte, with Peanut Lake in the foreground:

Another view of Peanut Lake, with Gothic Peak behind:

We hiked to the summit of Mt. CB- looking down over the golf course:

Columbines everywhere, purple:

And pink:

Just a few flowers carpeting the mountain sides:

Follow the yellow brick road:

Clouds moved in on the last morning we were in town:

Mt. Crested Butte and Whetstone, from Snodgrass Mtn:

And one last shot, of my traveling companions:

Also Interesting to see that terrain w/out snow -- no wonder its renowned as some of the most extreme inbounds

Nice shots. What's cool is that I'll actually be able to finally go to all these cool places I keep seeing on the forum.

Where did you guys stay in CB?

We stayed in the San Moritz condos- on the mountain, essentially ski-in, ski-out. (in the winter)
