The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Only 30 miles from our house, Indian Peaks is one of my favorite places to spend a summer or fall weekend hiking. The only drawback of the area is its proximity to Denver and Boulder, meaning it draws hundreds of visitors each weekend. We knew this, however, and decided to wake up a little earlier to beat the crowds this morning. We hadn't been to Blue Lake since 2006 together (although I passed it a few years ago on my way to hiking Mt. Toll, the large peak you see in many of these shots), so we decided on that as our destination. For scale, Mt. Toll, the cone shaped peak that towers above Blue Lake, is about 2k feet above the lake itself. It didn't disappoint, with perfect weather and beautiful views. The temperature never topped 65 degrees since we were above 11k feet, but Yoshi and Talley decided to "cool off" in the lake anyways.
