The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

here's the ziplining video promised earlier. 5 ziplines all located up the mountain above the bobsled/luge run.

No hands, upside down...loved it....

....................

Back to dinner on night #2......We took a bus to Lost Lake...got there and walked along the shore of the lake....lots of folks swimming, playing with their dogs, picnicking, etc...a beautiful spot. Came around a bend and saw a large (LARGE) deck set up with tables for our whole group (around 300 folks).

Also there was a covered stage area....we assumed that there would be a band playing later on in the evening....

Had a nice dinner, sat back and enjoyed the company, the mountains, the lake, etc...was sunset at this point. The the president of the vendor company got up and introduced the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra!

They had set up the dining platform, brought in a huge temporary kitchen and had brought up the entire Vancouver Symphony to play for us. It was an awesome experience.....great music and a beautiful setting.....

The locals at the lake were able to sit with their kids, familes, pets, etc...on the grass by the lake and enjoy the music as well. It was a great night.

The last day we did some light hiking, enjoyed the hotel grounds, did a little shopping and packed for the early departure the next day.

While we were in Whistler, the weather was beautiful and sunny. Highs in the low 70's and lows in the mid-50's. What a great place to spend time both in the summer and in the winter.

Arrived back in Asheville around midnight the next day. 80 degrees and humid:(...Got up the next morning and drove to Winston-Salem to continue the theme of our summer....watching Heel Jr. play ball.....
