Did the Beech for my kid's spring break for the 3rd year in a row as our only ski trip each year. Conditions were outstanding with excellent snow cover, area 100% open, slight bare spots on Monday on Oz run were groomed over by Tuesday.

Was going to stay at a certain inn which advertises as the only one at Beech with an indoor pool. The $60.00 per night advertised rate actually comes to $161.00 with fees and taxes. Opted instead to stay again at our now favorite and convenient Four Seasons Innand rented at the Beech Meadows ski shop.

I hope to post a vid tomorrow when i can access a decent internet connection. I bought a head mount for my camera on E-Bay but forgot to bring it so the videos were taken while holding camera in hand.

Hope to show my run straight down white lightning from the top. Doesn't look like much because of the perspective. the camera tends to flatten out terrain when you are pointing it downhill. Because of the excellent grooming on white i found i could fairly easily go straight down. The biggest concern was any people that would possibly be in the way but i was able to watch for that on the way up the chair and also during the progress of the run. The Beech ski patrol was pretty cool about the situation as they seemed to gain confidence in my abilities over the course of 3 days of bombing whitey.

Would that inn be of pinnacle variety ? We are looking at the 100$ 2 br special they are advertising on weekends. Any other thoughts on a group of 6 could get in decent for a Saturday night & we don't mind using a air matress ?

The prices may be fine and dandy for your purposes but I was able to save about 1 bill per night by staying instead at the Four Seasons. Call and ask what the final room charge after taxes and fees would be to avoid sticker shock at the front desk.

Pinnacle gets you on the fees. A $30 administration fee then a $39 non-refundable insurance fee. It's uber lame and doubles the price. Read the fine print.

nice trip.

I went up with wife and daughter the weekend before, during the snowshoe summit, and it was really good. They beech team has made a lot of progress and anyone who has been there more than a few years was quick to talk about it. snow quality was great though the cold nights and warm days. Lines never long. I got reports from people at that other place that the crowding was bad and snow mediocre. I met two groups from Pennsylvania who happened to be at Beech for the first time and they both said it was much better than expected, very good indeed. Anyway, good for good old Beech.

It was a last minute thing. We rented a condo from Beech mountain realty - good deal and good people.
