Today was the first opportunity in two years for myself and both sons to share a day on the slopes. We ended up only doing Sugar because Beech looked grim

Obviously it was pretty thin an shrinking at Sugar as well but it was a great day, my sons despite having little or no days were actually riding really well.

I bought a new helmet for the oldest they both say now they will always wear one (a long way from their 16 yr old attitude)

Tom T

Whoop

The boys finding what they can

The demo event turned out to be closed to to the public but 4FRNT still let me try the Turbo which I liked and would be a great single ski between here and western powder, I'll still hold out for some CRJs. Dane (their rep who's based in Banner Elk had some MSPs unmounted for $200 --maybe they are still available)

scary conditions for all those pristine bases

I went to the Dynastar tent hoping to meet dptmbt, he was out at the time but I got a pretty lucky break, made my day really, the other rep who I think is based in the NE showed me their newest design offering, the Cham which they've produced in a limited run and will release next season, Basically it replaces and completely innovates the Legend series-- the one I tried was a 97 waist, the 127 looked insane

huge very early rise shovel and around a 15 degree radius and a flat tapered tail; incredibly fast, stable and impervious to sloppy conditions, very easy to edge over and carve.... my two runs turned into three and dptmbt was just starting to look for me when I returned. Thanks to him the other rep --I really appreciated it

Very cool that you got time with the boys and demo time too -- even with all that patchy brown-green stuff.

Nice, David! Good to see you're still able to get some time with the boys. Those black pants look oddly familiar.;)

I wish the boys could have seen how far the beech park has come since three years ago..it was a coin toss where to ski and my desire to try new skis won the day

Bronco-- yes those pants were good -- held up to the slush, thanks

Haha beech park may have taken a step or two back from three years ago

it seems pretty good, Sugar gave up on it entirely

Yardsale, given the season I think Beech has done well stringing together features -- 4 plus years ago it was pure ****, although it had a lot more stuff on the margins

Wintergreen was by far the best park 6-8 years ago

except for App of course

I don't remember any aspect that was particularly good at beech 3 years and back .. in terms of management grooming and esp. any terrain park

Yardsale did Beech used to be esp good, Sugar has given up entirely
