The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Logan and I left at 430 and headed up. I left my car door open in the parking ride and had nothing worth stealing in my car however a nice cop thought he may have found a missing person or stolen car so he came by my house and scared my wife at about 6am. I'd later find out about this because she called Logan in order to inform me of my stupidity.

There was the typical Guntheresque lack of customer service when Logan was told he had to pay 10 more bucks than he previously thought. He said that his price was what was on the website which brought forth an abrupt "No it isnt!" from the cashier.

Tom Terrific was the first run. Hard packed granular, not quite ice but a disturbing amount of rocks on the surface of the snow. About the size of half a golf ball or so. No one could explain how they got there.

Whoopdeedoo was soft and powdery up top and down skiers right, hard packed powder in the middle and soft ball sized chunks and death cookies at the bottom. As the day moved on this run became way more consistent throughout in regards to conditions even if many of the death cookies remained.

Sugar Slalom was powdery man made stuff....

A good time was had by all and most people other than the cashier were friendly and courteous. Plenty of carnage too.

As we were leaving it was snowing, big quarter sized flakes and lots of them. I'm sure tomorrow will be nice....but I'll be at work.

On to the photos...

Gunther's henchmen! I think the guy with the beret is their commandant.

Remember your first day?

This was "open" lots of thin spots on the lower half of the mtn.

Ah, the working man's plight. It's terrible having to leave when you know there's a favorable forecast. You did a good job capturing what you were talking about in pictures, even if it's not what I'd ever want to see on the slopes.
