Very lame no picture first trip report, but just wanted to let people that have put their gear away know that Cat was fantastic today. It's March 25th, every slope is open at Cat, and it snowed as hard as I've ever seen it there this afternoon. Temperature in the mid-20s, no crowds, and untracked snow everywhere. You could even ski through the "glade" area today.
I highly recommend hitting it up tomorrow if possible. Wish they were still open at night. I suspect up top they received over 6 inches of new snow. It was so windblown it is hard to measure but it was snowing very hard into tonight.

Thanks for the trip report. We were planning to drive up there Wed night and ski on Thursday.
Any issues with the main local roads from the 4-6" of snow ?

Roads all clear. It was so warm before the snow that the road surface melted everything, plus CAT does a great job on the road up from Maggie.

Ha, yes the glade is .1 acre. I mentioned it to give folks an idea of the new snow that fell and the snow depth.

November 1, 2014
Opening Day for the 2014-15 Season
Although we are closing for the season today, March 27, mark your calendars and come November 1 (or earlier!), count on Cataloochee to begin making snow and open for the 2014-15 season as quickly as we can!
if the volf bites it this year, the cat will become my local hill!
