It actually stopped raining around 1030-11 and was a nice day after that. They had a halfpipe set up for those of you who missed it

probably 5-6 feet max, long enough to get about 3 hits in. it was ok, i've never been a big fan of vert walls on or off the snow but it was something different anyways

Yes I'm every happy.

My opinion though, and it was a crappy way to end the season.

Ski Season in Review

Watauga Democrat

Appalachian Ski Mountain 2011-2012

When contacted by phone for an in person interview, Mr. Moretz declined, but did have this to say: “I think the lesson that I learned was that I gave the public too much. And they didn’t deserve it.”

"The crowd that the terrain parks attract never appreciate the hard work and dedication of our employees. They work with the weather each season to deliver the best product available in the area. We will have to reevaluate our position as the premier terrain park builder in North Carolina."

But then he adds that he’s thinking of doing it again.

"There is this one guy skia4life89 that really had me steaming on the last day of the season, but i see the joy the jeebs bring to the rest of the customers. I think we will go for a halfpipe on appaljacks next season."

"Considering the weather, it was a decent year."
