After riding in the heat of Colorado for the last two weeks (95+ every day!), it was a welcome surprise to get out of the car at Keystone Gulch with 52 degree temps and high humidity. It just stopped raining a few hours prior, but I knew the trails would be in primo condition. They were. We rode 21 miles, partially on the Colorado Trail and partially on some of the spur trails between Keystone and Breck, and just about every inch was perfect. 3,500 feet up, 3,500 feet down. Here are some pictures.

Riding up Keystone Gulch Road, 4-5 miles of dirt road at an easy grade. This puts you right next to the Outback Express lift, if you've been there before:

Nearing the top where the trail hits the CO Trail:

Beginning the descent... on a sunny day, this would have been a great shot with views to kill:

Super smooth singletrack all the way down. So nice.

Beetle-killed pine trees were cut down and filled the empty spaces along the trail. It's amazing to see them all down:

Mmmmm... more flow.

We stopped at the junction with Red Trail, where the views are pretty legit:

And then you get to go down some more:

There is a little more climbing involved once you come back down to Keystone Ranch:

But you still get some pretty nice downhills before the parking lot:

With the dry summer we've had, it was nice to see some wildflowers along the trail.
