Hello friends. Lots of new things going on in my life. Haven't been on the board much this summer.

I've moved to Nashville and since I've been traveling a lot with my new career. My most recent trip was to Phoenix, AZ. It was the furthest west I've ever been and it was HOT. However, the humidity there is NOTHING compared to that of Memphis or 90% of the Southeast.

Anyways, very cool city. The metropolitan area extends for miles on end. There are no "drive to" suburbs - everything is interconnected. One street in either direction and you are in a new "suburb" of Phoenix.

One day after training class a few of my classmates and myself decided to go hike Squaw Mountain - a very simple 45 minute up hike with rewarding views of the city. Camelback Mountain was our other option, but since we couldn't go until early evening, we opted for the former.

Here are some pics from the trip. All are taken from my phone so sorry for quality:

Found this guy on the way up

Cool views about halfway

Started to get pretty grueling for the 2nd half. Stair steps for about a quarter mile to reach the peak. "I wonder how these steps just naturally form from the rock?"

our first real view of Camelback mountain. You can see where it gets its name

and peak...

someone spilled a drink on me

Pano

A police heli flew up to say hello. hovered about eye level for a few mins, then went on his way.

and finally a group shot at the top

Great trip. Easily the best thing we did in Phoenix. Went to a D-Backs game as well but nothing crazy there.

Ready for some snow! 11/21/12 to be exact.
