Teaser TR, will upload with full tr as more time and phots/vids become available.
We went to the beech mountain vicinity and had some good turns. Skied 3k vertical feet.
Snow was pretty compact and chalky/sometimes creamy. Never really hit any rocks as it was fairly dense, but still fun to ski in. It's def fun getting fresh tracks in october in NC though.
Another note, Ill add better pics friday or saturday. I need to photoshop some of these to actually bring out some contrast as visibility was prob limited to 50-100 yards all day.
heading up, it didn't look good near crossnore.
things better at higher elevations
yup
I want to see the TR for the people that hit the powerline, likely on tuesday. it has either grown a ton in the last two years, or WAY less snow then the last time it was hittable, most likely both. Tons of branches and bushes coming out. The people that made the tracks we saw likely had a rough time...
some tracks and stuff...we just set a bootpack and used it the entire day. we made about 8 runs or so. all of them fresh, all of them pretty awesome.
bootpack
time for powder baskets
cool trees
green grass
on the way out, we laughed at the thought of paying to ski at sugar.
