Arrived at Breck around noon to do some skiing and watch the Dew Tour superpipe and slopestyle semi finals.
Weather was pretty grey and snowy through out the day. Emily still had a great time.
The base area was a mad house! Reminded me of Beech on MLK weekend.
UNFORTUNATELY, due to major camera malfunction (lens system jammed and I had to take apart camera in bar during a break) superpipe pictures were not taken. Flame on. I'm going to Best Buy tomorrow for a non-cripple camera.
After the break, a few curse words, a beer, we returned to the base of the slope style to watch.
The scale of the jumps were impressive. These pics do not do it justice. Conditions were not ideal for the slopestyle as the fresh snow kept everybody pretty slow. Resulting in much of this...
Near the end the temp started dropping and the snow hardened up.
We started getting cold and headed to the bar.
While waiting for the gondola crowd to filter out we got to see some of the Snowboard Big Air warm ups. I still cant believe how high these guys were getting!
With fading light and a drained vanilla porter, my camera finally died. I know the shots are crappy, and the superpipe would have been awesome. I will go armed with a new, and better camera for the X-Games. Once we got home I opened up the camera to find a gear with a missing tooth and another cracked in half. This is a terminal condition but still not a bad for an 8yo camera. You had a good run little Canon.
