Weather was shaping up for a great sunday with plenty of fresh snow so I decided to roll the dice and hit wolf. Despite only four runs open on the report I assumed they'd open more during the day or I'd get some good poaching in at the very least. Pulled in the lot, not crowded and a decent amount of snow.
Took a few runs and there were a few nice stashes to be found (along with plenty of death cookies as well).
Here's a lift shot showing how much natural snow they got.
All in all a nice day. Found a few powder turns before the day was over. They had a park open later in the day with a 10' flat bar, courigated pipe, some sort of short useless box and a rainbow rail. None of them were set properly, take offs were built poorly, no landings, BUT I commend them for trying this early in the season.
Another big gripe I have with Wolf from this visit...seeing as how I'd gambled they'd open to the top at some point during the day I asked around and no one seemed to think it would happen early on, but after checking their facebook page during a trip to the lodge I noticed a post that said we're open to the top! So I go out, jump on the lift...that wasn't the case. I snapped a photo and posted on their page to show that the posting wasn't accurate. To be fair they did open the upper runs several hours later, but seeing as how I already have some trust issues with the place I felt the need to call them out.
