So the Mrs. and I picked up some groupon lifties for $20 to a place called Clear Fork ski area in Ohio about and hour north of Columbus. It had been closed for some years and opened back up last year. There had been about 8 inches of snow earlier in the week and then another 3 inches fell the night before. The roads were clear on the way up. It was the high holidays and they did not have the upper chair open that would have accessed the 'best' terrain there. All of the other areas within 2 hours of Columbus were 100% open. The place skis incredibly short even for Ohio and to be honest I have questions about their viability to remain open. I asked ski patrol why they did not have everything open over the holidays when they had the snow and all of their competition was 100% open and he said that it did not make sense for them economically to open another chair because they did not have the crowds. Anyway, it was cool to see a new place, but I don't think I'd go back unless I had a $20 liftie and they had everything open.

Chair looking at the lodge:

These glades were open. They were fun, short, but to be honest this pic makes them look quite a bit better than they are which is pretty rare.

Lift shot:

Looking up at the upper hill. The runs were open, but the lift was closed and it was the weekend after xmas. :(

Busted out my new Surface Live Life's cause there was pow!

I hiked up to the top 4 times to hit the untracked.

Untracked and open but no lift service.

I even talked the Mrs. into hiking up to get some fresh! She be bootin' up!

Here is me coming down. Great turns, but really short.

^^^^^Do bring the skis and we can roll up to Snow Trails or maybe Mad River. Your work is on the north side of town I believe making Snow Trails only ~45-50 min away. Ill post a better TR than what is on here now.
