Bluebird skies, perfect temps, snow blowers off by 10am, manageable weekend crowds, a fun park setup....it was a really fun Saturday at Beech. The only thing negative I have to say is that the grooming was sub par. Somebody baked some cookies and left them out on the slopes. Other than that, I can't complain as I had more fun than any day from last season.

I snapped a few pics from the first lift ride up in the morning with my phone. The ones from my new GoPro were useless. Not sure what happened, but I guess the picture every half second mode doesn't do too well with high brightness. I'll have to look into it.

Stoked to be one of the first 20 people in line. I've never had this happen before, but Beech opened the lift at 8:50. Usually they wait til exactly 9am. Nothing major, but a nice treat.

Looking good.

carvebeast approves.

Bluebird.

Here's a video of carvebeast going through the park. Nice little rodeo on the hip. The jump at the very bottom wasn't open yet and you can see Ric working on it. Once it opened, it was the best jump I've ever seen built at Beech. Shaped perfectly and a nice steep landing. In general the whole park was looking good. Much improved from recent seasons.

I was there last night and it was great. They groomed between the day & night sessions. I was much less adventurous in the park, just did my old man on skis hops. Really need to learn to jump and/or snowboard.

that jump was fun but extremely dangerous all weekend. beech needs to figure out a way to get that thing roped off so people wont ride across the transition... i understand sizing it up on your first pass but id say over 70 percent of the people riding through there had zero intention of ever hitting the kicker...

i feel like one of these days someone is going to catch an edge to the temple and maybe it will happen then
