Here is my long overdue TR from several adventures at A Basin. I'm no KD, so the pic quality sucks.

Decided my skills were up to par for my first attempt at the East Wall. I did fall one time near the top. Sat up and said to myself 'well that's out of the way'. Finished the run down First Chute without further problems.

Last week my friend John and I went up to an unexpected pow day. Snowed the whole time, even shut down 70 for awhile.

YETI!!!

Today was amazing. We drove back from Grand Junction in the snow storm last night and I was determined to make it up today. Got to the mountain around 11:30 as all the snow-snobs were leaving. Lapped the sides of 'Zuma all day. Even after lunch you could find stretches of powder. The sun came out for a bit and made the top very heavy, should be a recipe for avalanches for the next few weeks. From the trip beforehand, and a rush to get out this morning I neglected to charge both my camera and GoPro. I only got a few snowy shots. This one sums up the day.

Way to get after it... the last few weeks have been great, and since the beginning of March it's actually felt like winter up there!

Looks like it's going to warm up this weekend for good, bring on spring!

Iooks plenty scary to me, the east wall is never open when I'm at a-basin, I'm still not sure if I'd do it

I love the view of HWY 6 snaking away through all those hairpins, wish I were there, no REALLY, I wish I were there right now

Hope you still get out for more days of corn and sunshine

May skiing can be great. I've only actually skied in May once.
