Woke up at 5 am and I hit the do'

Grabbin my cans which number twenty fo'

....today was a good day

That being said the only skincer I saw was someone whom I assume was Cat Patrol and he just passed me on a lift. Patroller+skiSoutheast sticker+I know what scuba looks like is my rationale for that one.

The combination of rivalry satruday's drinking and revelry plus the new more than doubled price for a ticket (24 canned goods or 2 new kids winter coats) probably contributed to it not seeming as crowded as it has in years past but there was also a lot open.

I got in a lot of laps. WELL over my goal of 10 (I've seen hour liftlines by 1030 am @ previous events so I don't set the bar very high....plus it's kind of free) I quit counting at around 29. I also decided I would go home if lap times hit over 20 minutes/lap and it never came (The longest lap time was 18 minutes but they averaged around 12). I lift about 3 or so, and while it was crowded at times Cat's crew did an awesome job of keeping the lines moving.

Parking was weird. They were trying to initially direct everyone up to the lot behind the lodge. I asked parking dude what was going on with the rock star spots and he said they'd sill them in after that back lot filled up. I said that I would park in rock star and wait until people filled in around me if that was alright with him.

Snow conditions were fine btw

On to pics and a video with my first real runs of the Season (I went up earlier in Nov with my son and made a couple bunny slope laps...didn't seem TR worthy.)

Early birds getting the worm

Lift shot. I was 4th chair or so....

Temperature inversion in the valley. At the exit 102 it was 27 degrees and it was 39 at Cat's base.

Rock Island First Thing in the AM.

Alley Cat from the lift.

Looking down Alley Cat first thing in the morning

Another shot of Rock Island.

10 before 10 and this was the crowd.

Why buy a second helmet when your dirt bike helmet will do fine and already has a go pro mounted on it?

A little better look at Alley Cat thanks to our mutual enemy: The Sun.

A little crowded by 11, but manageable the whole day. Thank God for singles lines....

About 3pm when I headed home

the best thing about skiing solo is the ability to unload from the lift and GO
