As there really isn't much else going on around here, and I have seen; yet again more. "How are the slopes around the holidays?" posts. Figured I would push a few screen shots from the cams I took yessa'dae. For the archives! Makes me shudder...
There is a reason my *** is at home and not on the slope lol.
All Taken around 2pm 12/28/13 (Saturday after X-mas). Enjoy!

Really not as bad as I would have thought. Not that that is good, just less bad.

I was thinking the same. App wasn't really busy at all. All the WV cams had traffic, but it wasn't as bad, as NC. And not as bad in NC as I have seen it before. If I think about it, I will do pres day and compare.

Beech was freaking crazy yesterday. I am convinced Powderbowl is the most dangerous spot in NC because of all the gapers that go in there. It really was unbelievable. I had several surreal moments where I was just standing and looking up at all the carnage and thinking to myself "How is this allowed?"
-In the span of 3 minutes I saw a gaper snowboarder case the step up jump (didn't even come close) and cartwheel down the landing, a skier went parallel over a jump and landed on his back in the flat, and a swarm (10-12) of kids came hauling down the park in the pizza position with no poles and rolled/fell over every jump.
-One of the park crew members was raking a takeoff for a box and had to jump over a girl who almost plowed into him.
-I saw two instances where gapes went over features that were closed and being raked.
There was much more. It was crazy.

Even though as an old skier I don't hit parks I love how they are revitalizing small mountains and what Beech is doing with theirs seems pretty impressive ---- so without a dog in the fight I still say this sucks... if that crap continues then the park will be forced to dumb down to the morons instead of pushing the features to the people here who are actually good. But Beech may be fighting a losing battle working on a good park because in general I bet they'd make more money off a gaper-friendly park then one that caters to good riders - y'all eat in the parking lot and bring your own beer... you dirtbag losers
Grizzly you need to fix this

come stand next to me while i rake for 15 minutes and you'll get a sense of how difficult the situation is. We try our best to keep some sort of order in the park when it is needed but when it's busy it's not easy, point being is we try, but glad kenny and tom go to see what we do for a day.

as often happens I think I got my tone wrong -- I admire what beech is doing with the park, I meant it's a no win situation between novice crowds and the people who actually know what they're doing

unfortunately I think they only way to keep people out of the park that don't belong is through intimidation from the park employees. A guy stading at the roped entrance should suffice.
That being said, intimidation from employees is bad for business, so what can ya do?
