Ober 1-16-15

Got there for rope drop and it was pretty much deserted. Snow was hard for most of the day with a cover of large granules (close to being corn snow). It appears the problem with my boots was fixed. Was trying them out on their new setting and broke my personal speed record without trying, 56 mph. None of the previous issues noted, so its safe to assume my problem is gone. There were a few thin spots on Mogul and Ober Chute. I skied everything at least once but stuck around Mogul for the most part. It was icy at the top with larger bumps, but was softer once you got past the top 25% or so, the bumps further on down we smaller and not as icy as well so they were fun. I ran into Roy Mercer who was there with his family. Glad to see Barrow County's skiers out in full force
Pics
Deserted parking lot in the AM. This was right before rope drop.
Morning view from the lodge.
Yeti is to the left. It's like Upper or Lower SNowbird at Cat. Hopefully it cuts down on the ober chute carnage by giving folks another option to head down.
Ober Chute first thing in the AM
Mogul
Batman came out and skied with us.
What are friends for?
Here's the vid, mostly mogul laps. Yeit is @ the end though

Have fun and be safe
