Mt. St. Louis & Blue Mountian Canadian Christmas break

Hey guys I took my first ski trip from Florida this year bypassing the south, actually a family visit to Toronto Canada. We drove. Me being the cheapo do it yourself type I brought a pair of skis salvaged from an apartment discard pile and bought a nice pair of used boots at Play-It-Again Sports in Toronto, re-mounted the bindings w/borrowed drill & was good to go, to first Blue Mountain which is on the edge of a bay of Lake Huron. The vertical is 720 feet. Not much, but its a big area horizontally. 750k annual tickets sold annually make it the 3rd largest in term of visits in Canada. The weather was very warm, in the 30's daytime. They don't have any big hills in that area. Also visited Mt. St. Louis Moonstone with a vertical of 550 ft. The most Interesting thing about that area is that they actually raised their 2 hills higher by about 100 feet or so with about 2000 cubic meters (2600 sq yards) of dirt! (if you don't believe me ... wikipedia....) and that's basically what motivated me to write this trip report... a response from Kenny to my email mentioning one of my pet peeves about Beech, my favorite in the south about wishing they would move some dirt & rock around to level some of their runs. Anyway I know my rambling doesn't make up for photos but I didn't take any! here (hopefully I can post them...) from my kids photos ... so the other really impressive thing about Mt. St Louis is I couldn't understand why no-one was impressed with my skiing. I was using the lift towers for slalom poles when not going straight down the hill. But no head turning. When I saw their racing program swing into action I understood why. never saw so many carving banshees in my life... very humbling for me. Remember I was the guy straigtlining white lightning last year. Yea I love to brag. now how do I post photos...
