Not quite the exhaustive concordance of Cataloochee I normally do for a few reasons

1. The conditions in the morning when I was skiing things youd be interested in are now nothing like they were. It was about 35 and sunny when we got there. The temp dropped to 16 by 4pm. Loads and loads of man made snow and a good bit of natural snow.

2. Snow guns have a way of ruining videos.

First thing in the AM. They cut the guns on as we walked up.

Terrain park is set up.

With the warm temps recently Cat had some folks harvesting the lift lines for poles, gloves and various other sundries.

Aiden got pretty good at this run. He had no falls for his last 5 runs. A lot of this was in close to blizzard conditions. Dont let the pic fool you. By 2pm it was Snowing and VERY windy. Gusts up to 55. It was kind of funny because they were sufficient to stop Aiden and I dead in our tracks once as we made our way down. The temp was 44 in Maggie Valley in the morning. It dropped 28 degrees to 16 by the time we'd left. Cold doesn't seem to bug Aiden much as he was complaining he was hot until noon or so. Oddly by 4 it was sunny again.

This pic sums up my time while Aiden was at lessons perfectly

I skied with Aiden after lunch. The instructors were taking them down Over Easy anyways so I just decided I would ride with himand took him out of lessons to spend the rest of the day with him. His instructors, Jessica and Jules did a good job btw. This was about 1.

Aiden and I probably made 15-20 laps on Over Easy. He went fall free through his last 5 runs. It was a terrific day.

We really like the green lift for our grandbabies as well. Glad to see him having fun. Looks like we may need to get a junior ski team up for Barrow county ! :!:

I see Cat has added much needed "gates" to their slopes. There should be another "This is EXTREME TERRAIN, Shovels, Beacons, and Probes are required. Patrol will not rescue you here" atop the Alley Cat Coulouir. I'm surprised there aren't more warnings like this at various other places around the mountain.

the message is more like "if you havnt paid to be here keep off of our snow"
