Most of this is Aiden or weather centric. Conditions are still great. It was 3 degrees this am. Much warmer. Oddly Aiden and I both started feeling hot around 11. I thought for sure it was 40 or so. The car thermometer said 24. Ll. Maybe we're getting too used to this. Aiden really improved. No falls on anything easy. He's getting comfortable with speed. Really likes weaving through crowds of people and carnage (this was the end of the day, the lift lines got crazy everywhere at about 2pm)
4 falls total on intermediate runs. We did 7 or 8 laps of Rock Island and a trip down lower omg. No falls for his last 3 runs down rock island. He started putting 2 and 2 together about connecting turns and making a wedge concurrently. We also did a lap with a fellow who is a captain at spartanburg fd who is also a former beech instructor. He had his kid there with him so that was a lot of fun Fantastic day. Props to Bronco for the tix. Somewhere in the crowds were toroazul, tyrell, and skiing rules. Not that I saw any of you but it was good to know I was in good skinc company. BTW if youre starting a kid on intermediates at Cat Id suggest rock island. It's wider, less icy, and isnt a total pile of carnage unlike upper and lower snowbird.
Pics
The only thing of interest probably. The dude on the lift had a huge back pack and avalanche shovel. I admire someone who brings that kind of equipment to Cat. Always be prepared!
Aiden indicating he wants to go on the quad...
