Its finally snowing in Colorado. Berthoud Pass averages over 400" a year, and the access can't be beat. The area is finally seeing its share of powder- and man is it sweet. Here are some pics from today. (Sorry for the below average quality, the light was crappy all day and it was dumping most of the time)

View on the first skin track up in the morning:

Bill says, I'm glad I woke up early to get here for this:

Bill likes to ski fast. Its a good thing he wears bright colors:

I had another shot in my head, but it still came out well:

Perfectly spaced trees:

We ran into some other friends and did a couple laps with them:

18" on top of a decent crust- yum:

And to top it off, I saw this guy chillin' in a tree in my neighborhood when I got home:

Could you get a little more contrast between the snow and the skier please.
"You mean there is Two of them??"
"it's about 10 very heavy inches. I can drive it but it sure will be slow"

good work. let the snow gods go to work for you. I am hoping Jan. and Feb. are better than December in the Rockies. Headed that way first week of March.

I miss that place. I took my avalanche safety classes waaaay up there on Berthoud Pass.

Funny story: I had a can of mace in my pocket on my keychain (don't ask), and it exploded on my crotch while I was doing a beacon search excersize. That was a brutal ride back to the camp.
