that was awesome. how long have you been working on those jumps? def takes some ballz.
i've never done either. i built that jump specifically for learning flips and bonks so i learned both tricks yesterday in a few hours time. nice steep lip and a close by tree and i was on my way. the first back flip attempt was pretty freakin scary, but i just pointed it forward, got a good amount of speed, whipped my head around hard (they always say your body follows your head), and tucked my legs. i actually landed somewhat and just washed out. at that point i knew i was gonna have them dialed by the end of the day and so i made a few adjustments, started going for an indy grab upside down to keep my board straight and just spotted my landing a little more. started sticking them after about the 3rd attempt.
the tree bonk was a total experiment. i had no idea how to do it at first, but had seen it in some good park vids and always thought they looked fun. first time i just did a shifty air so my front edge behind my back binding would lightly hit the tree; fell flat on my back. i realized then that the spin is meant to be more violent than normal rotations and that i really had to hit the tree hard. i started making bark fly like crazy and hit my tail off that tree HARD. as soon as you hit it just naturally throws you into your rotation. landed a 180 on the second attempt and then assumed that if i hit it harder i could land a 3 so that's exactly what i did! haha the rest is history. glad you guys are enjoying my efforts b/c i've been pretty excited about really pushing it the last few days and it's fun to hear some feedback! video coming soon!
