It doesn't matter how many times I've been to squaw the wow factor always grabs a hold of me when I look up at it.This pic only shows about 1/4 of the terrain if that.

First funi, gold coast to shirley lake is how I usually start my day at squaw and did so .Quick pic before my first run down shirley. Wow factor in full effect.

Then to emmigrant

Or you can traverse about 200 yards off the same lift and start with this drop .Stays loaded with windblown pow .

Then over to siberia

And the sunbowl off headwall.Sun softened with windblown pow.Mighty fine stuff.

But the money run was the north bowl off headwall.

Im sure other places on the mountain were going off .I just found good snow and kept riding in the above listed areas.

A little afternoon cloud cover and a few ants.

Yesterday (day 5) was the deepest 2 inches of fresh snow I'd ever seen over in the granite chief/shirleylake solitude /silverado area. Trip report soon. Enjoy. Squaw valley is an amazing mountain.

Granite was rough on the legs(snowboard)with baby moguls starting to build up on this day. But was the place to be yesterday after a few inches fell and it got loaded pretty good by the wind.

This is actually deceiving , wasn't crowded at all up top .Getting out of the village on a pow day means you get there early though.Couple lift pics from yesterday.I wasn't about to stop to take pics. Pow at squaw is competitive.

Poor visability early, head for the trees for background. Couple little ollie lines

Found a remote area at squaw yesterday and did some drawing.Sun popped mid day and and after avy controls they opened silvy around 2 PM for more freshies.
