The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

Snowshoe Opening Day 2010/2011

It was a great start to the season. Light snow on and off with a few peaks of sunshine through the clouds.I was concerned that the wind was gonna be an issue, but by snowshoe standards it was only blowing moderately.Good visability everywhere except on the lift ride up ball hooter where they were blowing snow.No snowblowers were on any of the open terrain.







The place was a ghost town.Just me and the deer at general parking at 8:30 AM



















At the rope drop Gandy's right side was ungroomed and made for some nice pow turns on the first run of the season.















Second run of the year. Hug the trees and find some deeper pow turns.(Repeat )















Then over to the northern tract area to some chalky wind buffed groomers.

I purchased a midweek pass back in October before those were offered so that probably took me out of running

Gotta love POW in early Dec... great pics... hopefully this will lead into a long POWdaful season... can't wait to get up there sometime!

All that b****in' about the late opening and the place was empty on opening day. Sad.
