Plans were to go to Snowshoe Tues. and Canaan or Timberline Wed. The recent weather event ended up being mostly rain at all 3 places.Bummer. Insert the Laurel Highlands and 7 Springs. (Only about 45 minutes farther than going to Canaan Valley + an hour farther than Snowshoe for me.)Being slightly farther north the PA resorts faired well from this system. Lightly sleeting when I arrived around 4 PM , hour later changed to snow .Then it dumped.

Only 1 pic from last night ..The wet granular surface froze and got plastered by about 7 PM. A little crunchy at first .By 8 PM pow turns were flying.

The report said 8 inches fell overnight..This morning the sun came out for first tracks .It was sweet! Other resorts should take notice as to how 1/2 is groomed on a pow day and 1/2 is left fresh..Runs are fairly short here though.

First tracks...

Again 1/2 and 1/2 Left side ungroomed. I think this one is called avalanche.

Oh yea they don't rope off the lift line's here either. . They actually pad their trail count and name this one Gunner lift line.

No roping of the trees either..The skiers were frothing over this one! Soft pow covered bumps in the trees .I enjoyed it as well.

Started looking around after things got tracked and found these 2 venturing into the woods on snowshoes ..Asked a few questions .Said thanks was on my way.

Thanks ladies!!

Clouds rolling in to end an great day on the snow along with a great discovery slightly off the beaten path .

Almost forget they have a lot of park features here if your into that .Two 1/2 pipes and real booters if that's your thing.

Nice TR! Always wondered why 7 Springs gets mentioned so often for Mid-Atlantic.
2023-24: Wolf Creek in Dec, Massanutten in Jan, Feb; GT, Big Sky; Crested Butte; Alta/Snowbird in April.

I'd like to get up to 7... I've heard good things about the park for yrs and still haven't made it... looks like you nabbed a good day to stay out of the park though.

Looks like a pretty well manicured mountain. 8 inches and all the runs open during the week is always sweet!
