The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

a thought for the Admin

This is the spot to post your trail and trip reports. Please notify [email protected] when you do so that we can feature the better ones on the front of the website.

given that I spend so much time here, and if we grant the fact that what I post is pretty damned important, and further that my train of thought is too frequently interrupted by other people on this travesty otherwise known as a "message board"

to alleviate all these worries, why don't we just have an additional forum dedicated to me.

Obviously you would keep the other ones too, Ski/talk NonSki/talk LostSki/talk OtherKindsoftalk/talk, these all serve a nececarry (if highly dubious) role and I would hate to see them dissappear within the next two weeks

This all may sound self-centered but let me assure you it is NOT. It would be a benefit for everyone. While it may take a day or two to incorporate this change and I'm eagar to hear your input, regarding the name for the forum we should start from the idea of

DAVID'S FORUM, where DAVID will speak about winter issues important to DAVID for the entire freakin' summer!!!

work in progress Mike but I think we can agree on the bare bones here and proceed

This is a valid point -- and while David will generally not respond to any unsolicited suggestions concerning the content of David's Forum (TM 2013) -- more pictures of David is a win/win for everyone

hey Pagamony, we share a Celtic heritage is why I deign to respond, I'm confused about the Ry Cooder event, it is apparently a big deal, here I may sound stupid, did Ry Cooder die? is this like a traveling tribute show

Of the upcoming shows I really want to see the Randolph family, if you ever saw the crazy good black pedal steel player who appeared with the Blind Boys of Alabama, he's much younger, I think this is the same guy with his own band

hey just call me this summer, Saxapahaw is happening

Ry seems to be alive and well. Not sure why this revival thing has legs, but I have some friends going who are mega into it. I have a work event tomorrow night but if the stars align and that falls thru I'll ping you about it.

speaking of Celtic, I just realized i can order highland park single malt online. this internet thing is really useful.
