The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving and got out on the slopes if you could

I went with one son for an AM session at Cataloochee-- empty with nice consistent coverage throughout the open runs. AND it was open to the 3/4 mark instead of 1/2 where it has been on a lot of my t-giving trips. Cat did a great job, very mellow vibe and a good way to get my legs under me. I'm usually bored at Cat, but we got pretty lost in the moment, it was a fine half day of short fast runs.

Sorry that I didn't make runs with DreamofPow, but it was good to see you again.

So some pictures: first as the lifts opened

Smooth coverage

the cornice

my son navigating the crowds

I just hit repeat for two hours on that drop, fun and fast and just trying to connect 3-6 fluid turns together, and I never got it right (man I'm right-handed) ,but it was awesome. It never feels certain on that first run that any of this will work, then it does and a new season is on

Good to see you DS, every time I was on the lift I saw you skiing down..... I would have taken pics but they would have looked exactly the same as yours. CAT gets props for great conditions and a well run mountain.

The Cornice! It should be featured in some shape or form in every Cat TR. Can't wait to get out there in a few weekends.
