The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard
The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.
We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.
We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

OK, I have reservations at the Smoketree for Friday night and at the Asheville Patton Ave Days Inn for Saturday night. Anyone staying at the Smoketree on Friday (waynecash, skicop, etc etc) - find me and we'll have a beer or two. For anyone who didn't meet me at last year's summit, I'm the big guy wearing the red jacket in this photo Gresh posted.
Here are a couple of notes regarding hotel reservations - if you're a AAA member, mention it to the Smoketree people to get a 10% discount. The Day's Inn won't tell you about the $35.00 rate if you just ask "what's your best rate?" You have to say that you want the "internet rate." I guess it's like a secret handshake or something. Anyway see you all there!

so i'm thinkin' for the summit, i'm going to set up shop with the camera mid-slope. we can get shots of skinc'ers taking turns just before homing in on my position side slope. we can have a signal at the top of the mountain, say raising your arms up into the symbol of an 'O', short for 'oh my god, i'm going to have a sweet run and i'll need a pic because this run will be oh so epic and boomber'. i'll be borrowing the sweet 'O'-5.2 Mpix camera from our lab. Epic.
