THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULD ALWAYS SKI AT THE 'MONT IN ALABAMA. IN ALL THE TIMES I'VE SKIIED THERE, I'VE NEVER HAD TO WAIT IN LINE AT A LIFT OR HAVE A LIFT OPERATOR BE RUDE TO ME.

Hmmm...I saw some of that but luckily not to that extent! I guess it can happen anywhere really...no one place is immune. People, in general, are getting slacker by the minute with their jobs--and families, and selves! Ok...not my soap box.

Glad, too, that you did not have a physical encounter afterall. Good ending to the story!

I own a small business so I can understand their situation. Sometimes people just make mistakes and someone gets poor service. It happens with ANY business. The problem I have is when management has an opportunity to correct the problem and they don't. Sugar's management seems to exacerbate the problem in many cases. That is inexcusable! :x

Im in a customer service industry and a lot of people on here are giving reasons why good customer service doesnt happen..truth is its because management allows this bad behavior...it does not matter if a liftie gets min wage to do his job..it matters if a manager is watching and supervising him...i have been to all the nc resorts...they do a pooor job...all of them...it has gotten much worse over the past two years...they call these places we ski at "resorts"...i will always go skiing because i love it...but these resorts do not enhance my experience...something that they need to strive towards...and this website does not talk about it...if this website did some constructive criticism maybe they would attempt to clean up their act...and to the guy who says pack a lunch...why should i ...im PAYING for a service...they need to deliver!....my worst experience this year was when i was skiing down a trail and a ski employee was coming down the trail behind me on a snow mobile..and he shouted"hey buddy..get out of the way...coming through"...now who is really at fault the employee or the management that is never to be seen?...as an operations manager im very disappointed in the MANAGERS more than the employees...

Tugboat, great trip report and photos. They are pretty good for a disposable. I have had similar problems at Beech. Adding some well placed signs would be beneficial.
