Not what I meant either. We have all been out west and looked across the rope or behind the sign and said, boy that looks good. And sometimes we may have strayed a little out of bounds. Most folks may know that around here you loose a lift ticket, out there you get a ticket. And it costs a little more that a President's day lift ticket here!!

A guy here in town used to own several restaurants. He also enjoyed skiing and often skiied out of bounds. A few years ago he was skiing off piste and fell off a cliff and broke his back. He lived but was laid up in the hospital for months. He lost his business and never skiied or walked again. Bottom line, don't do it!

When I look in the woods at the NC resorts or for that matter most places that do not advertise "tree skiing" there is always an incredible amount of the usual woodland ground clutter. Do the resorts that allow tree skiing police the areas during the summer months? I thinking of stuff like cutting out downed trees, burning off ground cover, etc.

For the above reason I would never ski o.b. or poach a roped off run in N.C. I have no desire to face plant into a rock.

I dont understand why Beech has some dude ripping the trees on their homepage. False advertising if you ask me. Now if im some tourist thats a ripper, im going to think "wow! Beech allows tree skiing.." Kind of ho-hum if you ask me.

I've looked at that pix and wondered that myself. Where might that shot have been taken from?

I say print the front page and dive in if you want to risk it. What can they say if they've got it on their own page?

I don't care to pull a Sonny Bono myself, but one might could talk him out of clipping the ticket.
