Anybody know what the Grand Hotel(pigeon forge, tn) is like? If all goes to plan im staying there this weekend and going to hit up ober gatlinburg...

OK, enough about whipped husbands- that's just a fact of life that we all have to deal with and if we didn't love them we wouldn't deal with them so stop whinning.

BAck to the Grand. Nice enough place. I am just not a big fan of Pigeon Forge. Nothing wrong with it- I just like Gatlinburg better. I know that I'm paying slightly higher prices to stay in the Burg, but in my mind it's worth it. I have been in the Grand a couple of times and it appears to be a really nice place. Hope this helps.

I stayed there a few night years ago when it first opened. It's a nice place but nothing fancy. Personally, I'd find something cheaper if I could if I had to stay in 'Forge. I agree with Bum. I'd rather stay in G'burg and get closer to the slopes. You can also park your car and forget about it. It's nice having everything in walking distance.

Update on me:

I regret to inform you that I am weak and allow myloving wife to tell me what to do. JK, but I won't be there Sat. I have to attend a school function with Mrs. SkiCop. The next sighting of a SkiCop in the wild will be at the Summit.

This is NOT what I wanted to hear. Assuming J has your number expect a phone call about 11AM Sat. telling you how BOMBER it is and calling your manhood into question. Ask MBlacky about bailing.

Check the Fairfield Inn in Gatlinburg. It is right by the tram and you can walk there. The rooms are nice with balconies over the creek and a fireplace in the room.

In Gatlinburg, we usually stay at the Bearskin Lodge, Clarion, or the Hampton Inn. All three are within block of the tram and all three are pretty nice (and critter free).

I like LeConte View. It is just one block from the Tram station. Plus it is right around some really good places to eat! Food is always good!
