No sour grapes here, but Beech's website clearly states that the 20/30 isn't in effect on weekends, but that is where they screwed up last weekend by allowing those prices to be in effect. All the resorts can change their pricing at a moments notice, and it can be hard for those that travel up the mountain without ample time to do research. But with the weather the way it has been and looks like it will be, they have to get their money when they can, even if it means emptying customers pockets at the ticket window. And MillerPKA, where are your smiles and jingle bells??
Well with a whopping 13 posts I wouldn't expect you to see my smiles and jingle bells, but all of my posts besides the one in here have been positive.
My closing argument is it was a rip off for Saturday. Luck of the draw, I understand but it still burns a bit. What's nonsensical is the criticisms it draws for stating negative opinions. Beech is allowed to suck, it's okay for people to feel ripped off, not everyone needs to cling to Beech's teet in their defense.
As I said, money and expenses for Beech this season are hardly an issue for me so I was really proclaiming this for the others who felt the same way. I agree, happy they're open and happy they're making snow. Hopefully we'll see some better conditions soon.

i think beech sucked today
Man, you people can't post up negative stuff about a slope or a person anymore. Where the hell you been the last 10 years. No put downs, bad things, talking about your momma, anything that would be hurtful or insensitive. It's not the way of the the World anymore. You pansies have got to realize that you can't think the way you want to anymore. The new society tells you how you must think about things. Gosh, ya'll don't watch Geico commercials.

Yeah this wasn't really a comment on how society works MSDIDDLER, but a good debate on the goings on, glad there can be a debate on opinions, don't know how things work in Mississippi but i think it's still burning.

It warms my heart to see everyone in mid season form already in early December. It usually takes a few weeks before everyone starts blasting Beech. It's so special! This thread already has several candidates for the outstanding post content of the season award. The winners will be announced in the first annual "King Day Weekend is Crowded and Overpriced" trip report. And if that thread garners the support I anticipate, it will be followed by the first annual "Presidents Day Weekend is Crowded and Overpriced" trip report. The resorts for these two reports will be selected based on the following criteria: 30% for least terrain scheduled to be open, 30% for anticipated hours of snow making while the slopes are open, 10% for number of inquiries on skinc from Florida residents about said resort, and 30% for most expensive lift tickets. I think this should be a fair way to zero in on one resort that everyone can really open up and express their true feelings about. Double credit will be given for posts by members that haven't actually been to the resort they're ripping. Triple credit if you've never laid eyes on any resort east of the Mississippi River and south of the Mason Dixon Line. Enjoy!
