It was a tuesday late season slopes were empty. You bet I was at top on the weekend days protecting her. On monday and tuesday it was pretty much empty and especially on the tougher slopes. Thanks for all the feedback. Btw my policy is usually let them have the slopes on weekends I will get my time weekdays and weekends before lunch.

Hard to believe isn't it?
This one's getting ready to go to college.
This one's moving up to high school.
Time flys.

Good stuff. There is nothing wrong with skiing blacks, but I do agree with TD. Bad form is very hard to undo. Kids do use their arm a lot for balance but they still need to be forward in their stance. The look of a steep hill from the top will intimidate very quickly and that will throw people in the back seat fast. What is learned on the gradual slopes should be moved from there up the hill.
Their is nothing wrong with taking her to ski the steeper stuff, just don't spend the whole day there. Keep it mixed up where she has time tto learn and improve then go for a black run or two. In the end with children it is all about a fun experience for them and it looks like you accomplished that.

skisc we mix it up alot. There was a ski instructor at bottom and watched entire run on lower shays and said she was fine she got bounced back a bit but that is due to 80% of kids weight being in her head and shoulders and she looked good. I try to keep her forward but the ski instructor did make a good point. Hell ill take a 5 year old skiing anything she wants over top of what some were doing.
Not always easy to get kids motivated but always worth it. I deal with what is. Dad (me) raised in northeast with an easy 3 hr drive to Killington etc, now living in Florida with my 3 Floridian children. Used to be 15 hrs to get to the nearest skiing, now only 10 because we moved further north. Still a lot of effort to get the experience but has been worth the effort. They all now enjoy both skiing and snowboarding and I'm just learning now to snowboard. These are experiences your kids will never forget.

Seeing this just makes me regret passing up another season without getting my 6 year old on the slopes. Hopefully next year. Hope I having waiting too long. Her older sister started at 5 and picked it up really quick.
