The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard
The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.
We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

Glad you had a good time on your trip... Assssspen is such a great town (if you can avoid all the rich DB's) and the mountains are killer.
The only thing I'm disappointed in is that you didn't make the hike to Highland Bowl. It's a must-do... and the G's are most definitely worth the hike, as are the views from the top.

Definitely saw a lady in fur boots and fur coats yanking the gas hose as hard as she could to make it reach the opposite side of her range rover, that she parked about 12 feet from the pump. She was at least in her 40s and it might have been her 5th time pumping gas ever.
Trust me I'm pretty disappointed myself. I told the guys multiple times I wanted to go. They talked to patrol about it and were told "I wouldn't take your good skis up there". Seemed to be a tradeoff of views for skis, and they weren't my skis. To me - going to the Rockies requires getting to the top and skiing that "life changing" run. I didn't get that this trip, but I made the best of what we had.
