Went up to Wintergreen for the day. Met up with breckbumpr and friend for a few runs on the Highlands after lunch. It was 18 degrees when I rolled into the parking lot at 10am, didn't see much reason to arrive earlier. Stayed in the 20's all day, with a pretty stiff wind. Apparently the gusts were 35 mph on Wed.

No lift lines anywhere between being a Thursday and the cold. Enough groomed man-made powder on top of a solid base. A little hard in some places like Upper Turkey Run or Lower Cliffhanger. But overall very nice conditions as long you had cold weather gear.

Learned that the ticket booth above the Plunge near Discovery Place isn't open Mon-Thu. Still the better place to park in my opinion . . . after getting a lift ticket. No problem parking near the main building mid-week.

Looks like a good day for laps! Good to know that ticket booth isn't open M-Th.

Meimei, did you get any pics of the new carpet lift? I'm curious where they stuck it.

Yeah, it was ski on at both Highlands and Big Acorn. Not really a wait at the main lift to get back to the lodge area either.

Met a ski patroller who commutes from Cary Tue-Thu. There is a place for patrollers to stay who aren't local. Interesting to know.
