The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

what is so good about Gutheries chicken fingers?

That is all they do. The more appropriate question would be about the sauce. The dipping sauce is what makes it. The guy that started Zaxby's used to work/manage a Guthrie's and "stole" the secret sauce and started up the new restaurant Zaxbys. Guthries has a limited menu--so that is what they specialize in. They have chicken fingers and a chicken sandwich and sides are slaw and french fries. A few locations have breakfast and salads but not the original location next door to me.

I thought that Guthrie's originated in Athens Ga.... We've got Raising Cane here in Augusta (as well as Zaxby's) and the guy that manages it told me that it was started by a couple of "disgruntled Guthrie's employees" just like Zaxby's was... Anyway... Neither of them pale anywhere in comparision to Guthrie's and their famous "Atomic Sludge" sauce!!!!! (No matter how hard they try)...

Zaxby's originated in Athens. I was there on opening day. Some of my family lives right down the road from the original store, and we happen to be in town.
