It was my son's only weekend off school and work, thus, start the long drive...

Saturday, superb spring skiing. crowds very light. acc tourney updates. The slope of the day was Knotbumper - lower Balhooter which were left to moguls. This is about as good as Snowshoe gets on ordinary days.

uppper kb. large but soft bumps in the sun, perfect training ground.

lower bh. this slope generated a lot of onlookers but few skiers, which rendered the liftline on this side nonexistent. nice!

Sunday was colder, faster, and empty. Slope of the day was Shays which was half and half groomed. Conditions were much better on Western than on the Basin side.

The only way it would have been better is with a foot of new snow, so of course, as we left, light snow began to fall and the big storm hit, see the pictures from BB. Meanwhile... au reviour snowshoe 2014

Nice. That looked pretty good. Sorry to hear that you missed out on the storm. I reluctantly bought a ridiculous pass for next year. How were the liftlines? How much off-piste natural snow was still in the trees?

I've never seen them let Ballhooter do that before -- looks fun

Bumps look fun. Ballhooter (way back when, like in the 80's), used to be a mogul run before everyone went to grooming everything all the time.

I don't really care for bumps, but those look fun... still hoping for another day myself, good work!

no real lift lines, no real snow in the trees (yet), no pass for me. since it goes for 1.33 seasons, I'll just get one every other year. wish i could get the same deal at tline.

and bazniga dude, i suck at bumps, but do not let lack of talent get in the way of having fun. go for it.

Ditto, couldn't pull the trigger on 2 more when I hadn't used the ones for this season yet! A day at Wisp & 4 at Shoe not too shabby but well under the goal...

yeah, i had a few chairlift conversations with like minded guys. most don't really go to shoe until February anyway. I got 8 days out of mine, so it worked this time. new frontiers next year !
