The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

I started my journey around 2:30pm to meet the group in Nashville. I didn't realize until on my way home that it was pointless to even meet up with the group but you live and learn I guess. I'm running late as the group had waited about an hour for me to arrive. After hitting up the ATM and the liquor store we were finally on our way. We arrived at our hotel in Florence, KY at midnight and man was I tired. Since the Nashville crew only had a 4 hour drive they were alot more awake then me and I knew I was in for a night of little sleep. I guess they crashed at about 3 or so since we had to be up at 8 to meet the other group at the slopes. We woke up the next morning on time and got ready to go. Found out that the hotel that the other group was staying at had lifties for $30/day so that saved us $13/day...can't complain about that for the weekend. It was only a 20 min drive to the slopes from the hotel.

Here are some pics. They are in no particular order.

Railroad crossing? Are you sure I'm going to a ski area?

Oh...I see it now. First impressions...Wow that looks flat!

Finally here

Looking a little better

Center stage(Diamond)...aka Mogul City (on Saturday). Comparable to NC Diamonds even though it doesn't look like it from the pic. I took a stab at it on Saturday and it was a bit too bumpy for me. Skiers were having a field day with it. That was my last run on Sunday before going home...much smoother then.

The advanced terrain park

The tree runs in the distance

Deception trail

the grooming wasn't bad at all

entrance to the tree runs

giving the newb in the group a few tips

group picture (minus me)

All in all...not a bad place. Its small, not alot of vert, but still very nice. I really like how it is spread out too. It doesn't all funnel into one area like some places I know of . Not quite sure if I'll go there again. Maybe if I don't have to drive I'd think about it.

That is what I've heard before. What it lacks in vertical feet it makes up for in breadth.

Whoa, that place actually looks like fun. Those trees would be a blast on a day with some new snow.

I second ECs trees comment. Also looks like they have pretty impressive snowmaking capabilities.
