The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

So I went up to Cataloochee after my classes in Chattanooga to get some snowboarding in last week and was greeted to a beautiful day. Temperatures were in the 40's and only a light wind was blowing that day. The snow was nice and soft and easy to carve and conditions could not have been better. Lower Omigosh had some choppy spots (if that is even a useable term) that were hard to traverse but that is just me trying to find something to criticize. Lines were mostly light with all the slopes open; Even with the lower lot totally full and upper half full around 1pm. It was my first time experiencing turkey trot and short and sweet and they were very nice. Turkey Trot was very open and would be an excellent spot to put down some rails or boxes. I believe it would be an awesome place and I wouldnt be suprised if someone decides to put something in that area. Unfortunetly I forgot to take pics of turkey trot and short n' sweet but I got others. Here they are!

Conditions were looking sweet. This is the first year in the last 10 that I wasn't able to make it up to the Cat.

All I can say is WOW! These conditions look better than most mid-winter conditions in the southeast any year but this year. Can't wait for next weekend when I make my final trip of the year.

I'm scratching my head to know why this two months old thread is alive again.

Don't know but remember that the Cat is open this weekend and next, so come on out and enjoy the last few weekends of NC skiing.

I don't know about the first reply, but I think my brain switched 1/22 for 3/22 and I was pretty darn impressed with the snow up there ;)

8 people X $15 = losing way too much money to even turn on the lights.
