The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Part 2..... the second big hike we did was Scarp Ridge, which climbs about 2k vertical above Lake Irwin and gives you 360 degree views as far as you can see. These pictures really don't do justice to the scale of what you can see from up there. Once on top, the ridge drops around 700-800 feet straight down to the other side into a couple of different basins. If you don't watch your step, you're gone.

On the way up.... even more wildflowers and skunk cabbage.

Looking over towards Mt. Owen.

On top of the ridge, looking down. Those cliffs are at least 500 feet tall.

The view to the north, with 4-5 14'ers in sight.

Looking back towards CB, you can see how the right side is gently sloping, and the left side of the ridge abruptly drops.

Sunset picture from behind Mt. CB:

An old barn down the road from the Strand Hill MTB trail.

Again... Crested Butte: Good for the soul.

Welcome back to being a productive member of the tax paying society. Even your weekends are better than ours. I really need to start pushing my wife to a move to Denver...I can work remotely...:D
