Ive been dieting now since the end of August (25 pounds lost so far!). To get exercise I have been doing a lot of hiking but its kind of anti climatic, after walking 2 or 3 miles there is no real reward for doing that. But hiking a mile or two to a waterfall, that is a little bit different. Im going to try to start hiking once or twice a week now to local waterfalls or other points of interest, combine exercise and photography.

I have hiked in South Mountains State Park 5 or 6 times now, in every season and weather type you can imagine, I decided to go down there again today and see if any of the leaves were changing as well as to check out the waterfall. I never really get any good shots of the main waterfall there but I always end up getting some shots I like of the smaller falls/cascades. SMSP is also usually the place where I seem to get my best fall leaf shots as well, dont know why. A few trees were changing but mostly everything else was still green. Water was down in some spots, other spots looked higher than last time, maybe the water is taking a different path or something? Dont know.

I will probably vist SMSP again next week, maybe try some of the other trails there as well, they have quite a few but I always do the same one. Anyone wanna join me just let me know.

Trying to experiment a little with this image, not sure if I like this effect or not.

Obligatory shot of my new to me lens.

Nice pics, Afro. My favorite in the set is the 8th one(The one with the bugs on the branch). Congrats on the weightloss.

Very cool Afro. Most people would probably think you merged two photos in photoshop.

Thanks, I never noticed those bugs until I looked at the photos when I got home, If I saw them when I was there I probably would have screamed like a little girl.

Having lost quite a bit of weight as well since this past January,I agree, I'd say the best way to exercise is to do the things that make you feel good. For me, hike (especially with our dog), mountain bike and coming up ski as much as possible. Nice photos, as always. Love the stream/small falls.

Very nice. I got to get over there more often. Thanks for reminding me of what's in my backyard.
