The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Round trip with taxes and fees comes out $290, if can fly on the cheap days of the week. So the question is about the best arrival time of 11:30am, which has a 45-min connection in Midway. Is that reasonable? I worry about the luggage, but have not flown SW much. Planning a trip to Alta in April, so not too worried about Chicago weather delays. The alternative goes thru Las Vegas, but total travel time is 3 hours longer.
2023-24: Wolf Creek in Dec, Massanutten in Jan, Feb; GT, Big Sky; Crested Butte; Alta/Snowbird in April.

291 was my total on the SLC ticket. The 'charges for swapping planes added a few $. I have a Midway change going out and Denver change on the way in. A 45 minute layover was fine the last time I flew to SLC through Denver. I was able to watch the ski bag come out of one Jet and load into another. I carry my boots, ski pants and helmet as carry on, wearing the jacket. I like the early arrival time in order to take use the ski free program in SLC.

FYI

http://www.expressshuttleutah.com/ -

I used them last year to get from the Airport to the LaQuinta. Currently showing as a 20.00 ride.

I just scoped out the TRAX Route - it does not run to the Airport.

Express is the best cheepest in my xpeirence but you gotta facter in a little bit of cushion as they will load a few other folks/stops onto the van. Lightrail is supposed to go out to the airport someday...will be saaaweeet when it do

Get's you skiing the same day as your boarding pass. Deer Valley, The Canyons and Park City. Park City has night skiing - until 7:30.

When I used Xpress - the closest hotel to airport was mine. :)

For people interested in this Summit, check www.swavacations.com for deals. During the time frame of this shindig, you can get in for around $500-$600/person for 4-5 nights. This is based on two people together and depends on where you stay and how many days.

Right now we got three rooms booked with 6 people splitting those rooms. Time for a 8 person to join the party. That would get an even number.

Someone is sitting on the on the fence - having never having done something like this. You'll have fun - every place we go - will have something for you to ski - and someone that has been there before to tell you where to find it. Until last year, I never skiied out west and wouldn't have tried it on my own. This is like taking a vacation ski package without having to pay a travel agent....

And the Bonus to this whole deal - for the first person to step up is Stealth Boarder needs a roomie. For that one reason - you can cut your hotel bill in half.
