The wife and I thought it would be nice to carry the girls to Disney for Halloween this year. Since we have a larger camper now I asked my grandparents and mother to go along with us. They carried me many times when I was younger, so it was nice to return the favor. We left out after my wife got off of work Friday evening. We cruised on down to Perry, Ga to spend the night, and then finished up driving Saturday morning.
The rig pulled out of its shed and ready for the road.
Our home for the week
My plan was to go to the parks at our own leisure and chill at Fort Wilderness CG. So, we got 7 days worth of park tickets that way we would not feel compelled to cram a bunch of stuff into 2 or 3 days. We spent the next 7 days just chillin'. A typical day was to get up, eat breakfast in the camper, take Disney transportation to a park, come back to the camper about lunch, swim at the pool or ride bikes, cook dinner, and then go back to the park for a few more hours. This worked pretty well with the little ones.
We went to the Halloween party at the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday. The girls wanted to be Tinkerbells....the wings didn't last long.
The car, moto, and stunt show at Hollywood Studios was pretty cool. This guy gets set on fire a few times a day
The kids found a fountain area at Epcot and played in it for about 45 minutes. We finally had to leave when Lizzy collided with another kid, instantly bloodying his nose.
Disney is serious about their firework shows. They burn up a ton of $ every night. The nights with the Halloween party are even better.
I took this pic (with my phone) of the sun setting over the Grand Floridian Resort while riding the boat back to the campground. It is peaceful out on the lake.
Disney goes all out on decorating.
The kids are still talking about this.
I took a walk early one morning around the marina at the CG and found my dream retirement job. This guy rides around combing the sand. It looked relaxing.
Some random flower along the sidewalk.
No fishing...or swimming! It seems that central Florida lakes have an amoeba that enter your nose, bore into your brain, and kill you. A few deaths already this year, but none at Disney. Water temp has to be above 80 or so for them to become active.
Early morning breakfast playing.
Halloween night was a huge party at Fort Wilderness. There were hundreds of people out and about. We gave out about 30 lbs of candy and the kids recovered about 10 lbs. There were people dressed in all types of garb. Tish was a 60's go go girl/stripper. This nun was hardly nunly.
2slikstix and family had come down for a family vacation too. They came over to the CG and hung out for a while. It was good a time.
I got hooked up on this trip by getting in on a group trip put together by some peeps on a Disney camping messageboard. There were a few from Alabama, but none that I knew personally. They turned out to be a very CF'ish type of crew. Some of the popular things to do were to get very drunk, screw with Disney security, blast around the GC at the wee hours on hopped up golf carts while playing hide and go seek with the po po. One night (3am) they filled trash cans with water to dump in the (turned off) waterslide, then proceed to slide while fully clothed....very CF'ish, indeed.
By Sunday we were out of time and had to pack it in. A 10 hr drive later we were back to reality.

That's 2slik's biker get up...dude was rocking a leather head wrap.
I used an old manual focus Nikkor 55mm f2.8 macro. I need to redo the sharpening on the flower pic. I got a little carried away and made it a little noisy. Thanks for looking.

I want your girl's red curls!!!!! They are both adorable!!! Great pics, thanks for posting them but I have one question...what is CF?? (If you can say it here!!!)
I asked that once... the answer was "if I tell you I'd have to kill you!"
"Nothing changes if nothing changes."
