The End of an Era...We are Shutting Down the Messageboard

The messageboard is now in read-only mode and no new posts or topics can be created. We will leave the messageboard up for historical purposes, but you will not be able to make new posts or comment on existing ones.

We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

We really hope you all will join us on Discord and think you will like the platform. Use the invite link below to join.

Since we can’t ride a chairlift until the weather changes… the next best thing would be to ride down the cable that takes the chairlift up. So we took the kids to Wahoo Ziplines this weekend in Sevierville. It was a blast! It’s only about a 30 minute drive from Maryville. After you get your tickets they suit you up with the harness, helmet, and gloves - no gloves for the little ones though. Then a bus drives you up to the 1st line. We had 18 in our group, 10 of which were my family & friends. I was told the normal groups are around 12 people…busy day I guess. There are 6 lines that range from 900 to 1600 ft long. The views are beautiful, and the lines are 40 to 250 above the ground. The 1st line goes through a huge gorge. This is where everyone is still not sure about doing this. My wife was more scared than our 5 yr old. They have 2 people working each line that go through each run with you. One stays up top and attaches you to the line, while the other catches you @ the bottom. He attaches a carabiner with a rope about 12 ft out the line and as you come flying down he pulls back to slow you down. There’s also a pad incase he doesn’t stop you - this can happen if there’s a big guy coming down. On the 3rd line there is enough slack that the guides grab a hold and move the line up and down as you ride. This causes you to go flying up and then drop like rock. The 4th line they turn you upside down if you haven’t figured it out yet. That’s a great feeling. The 5th line is tandem where you go down in groups of 2, holding on to each others rope. The last run is a race. They have 2 lines side by side. Then after everyone gets through, you have a bus waiting to take you back down the mountain. This was a great family day, everyone enjoyed it. All ages 5-? can ride. We had a couple that was about 70 in our group. The cost is $89, but you can find deals elsewhere. They offer $65 tickets if one person in your group is a local, or buy 3 and get 1 free. The best deal is @ halfoffdepot.com for $49. We will definitely go back!

Been thanked: 2 times

Thanks for the tip on the discounted tickets. We found this place simply by accident this summer by just driving around. We followed the signs and watched a bit. We have been wanting to try this since we saw it.
