Me and Stealthboarder decided to hit up Sugar for the day. We arrived to rockstar parking at 8:30,geared up, and got our lifties($32). We walked out to a pleasant 6-12 inch base in front of the lodge. They were able to blow snow all night long and shored up the extreme thin spots. The snow was a little of everything, but is now softening up quite nicely. Sugar did keep the guns on until about 11, which was about an hour to 1 1/2 too long. Overall, it has been a good day so far. I will post up some pics when I get home tonight(Yeah I know 2Slik, WWOP). I'm headed back out now, but thought I would give a mid-day report.

Sugar has always been accused/guilty of leaving the guns on to long.
It's good to see some of you getting some turns in on this first weekend. It will probably be after New Years before I get a chance to make some turns this season. That is unless something drastic happens and I get an opportunity.

See Southern Skiing's TR for pics, as he posted his before I could get home. Everythig he said pretty much sums up my sentiments. It was my first time @ Sugar also. The loading didn't get muddy until about 11:30or 12. Other than that, the slopes were actually quite fun to ride on. I would like to go back when they have more slopes open, but only during mid-season conditions.
