We have started a Discord server and hope that you all will join us on there. Technology has changed over the years and maintaining the messageboard has become somewhat of a pain in the butt and Discord offers many features for users, the main one being a very polished mobile app.

Southern Skiing, thanks for getting your pics up and the TR. I wasn't able to get home before you posted yours. Your TR was right on the money with what I was thinking also. How did like the drop off of the chair @ unloading?

25 minutes just to get to the lift?? Isn't that the norm on even a slow day though? lol

I'm glad I stayed at home. That mud looked pretty gnarly.

If they are, thats an excercise in stupidity! Theyll lose WAY more people to other resorts. How many people could they possibly catch doing that? And would it EVER justify the amount of people theyll lose becuz of long lift lines? The logic is beyond jacked up but I know what theyre thinking: "If we have long lift lines it means we've still got enuf people coming here"

Lets hope theyre just doing it as a form of employee training or because of misunderstanding between employee and supervisor or something.

Today was another example of how impersonal the experience is at Sugar. I do give them props for opening up and having pretty good snow for November in NC, but it was just another annoyance that I have to add to my list for Sugar. I do wish that they would be a little more conscious of the customer service they provide and not provide a what i would call "Disney Experience," of just another wallet to take money from.

Sugar gives me the eeby jeebies for some reason. Maybe its that ugly hotel on the top of the mountain, but the whole place makes me feel uncomfortable. I do like some of the runs and stuff, I really like the rock on switch back or whatever its called.

thanks for the tr, I wanted to see if sugar delivered the goods.

I don't mean to trash Sugar but they should have at least waited until they had a sustainable base to even open. That lift loading picture is a joke. It should not be a race to see who can open the first but who can provide the best quality terrain.

Loading the lift in the mud? Good way to trash equipment. I'll wait until conditions are better. Glad you had fun though.

cataloochee didnt even have enough snow to groom. nc resorts are owned privately and there is kind of a race against each other to open, it is also pretty late compared to other years for them to be opening. I do agree that the loading area was just obscene. And it does not surprise me that sugar would do that.
